Ticket order forms for members

Members may order tickets for friends and family through our box office co-ordinator, Mags. The ticket order form is here. You can post your completed form, with payment, to Mags (her address is on the form) or order tickets in person at rehearsals. For orders placed in person, we ask that you have the form completed and your payment ready before you join the queue (the "box office" operates during the interval, only, at rehearsals).
For non-members, tickets are available direct from the Guildhall Box Office.

Please walk, share a lift or use public transport, if you can. Thanks.

Running order for December 19th

Apologies for hiding the running order away from you! (And well done, Peter, for realising it and telling me.)

Rehearsal on Monday 7th December for both December concerts

All singers for both the December 13th and December 19th concerts are asked to attend this rehearsal. We'll be rehearsing the common programme until the break, and then you need stay only if you are taking part in the December 19th concert.
This is the last rehearsal for the December 13th event (until the final rehearsal on the day itself), so please arrive in good time, so that we can start very promptly.
There is a further rehearsal for the December 19th concert on Monday 14th at St Michael's church, and then a final run-through on the afternoon of the concert.

Carols at Sunrise -- list and music sheets

The list of items for the private carol concert on Tuesday 15th December at Sunrise Senior Living is here. Please make sure that you print the carols sheets (pages 2 and 3 of the document), as well as the list.
The event begins at 7.30 pm. Please arrive by 7.15 pm and let the receptionist know that you are with the choir. Sunrise Senior Living is at 111, Burgess Rd, Bassett.
Dress code is smart. Abandon the thermals, or you will melt!

New diary!

Yes, it's another edition of the diary. I've gone a bit mad with colour in an attempt to help you work out which rehearsal is for which programme. The jolly green denotes the December 13th concert at the Guildhall; the tasteful turquoise is for the December 19th concert at the Turner Sims; the restful, pale purple is for the Carols at Sunrise Senior Living. Put your sunglasses on, and then click here.
The alternative venue mentioned is St Michael's and All Angels' Church on The Avenue (Bassett end).

Choir News

Owing to a formatting error that I have no idea how to fix, the June Choir News 2 ended up about 10 yards wide in places. Sorry about that. Just in case this novel feature slightly put you off reading it, here is the choir news in all its glory, but only a fraction of its previously published width.

AGM at the Turner Sims, followed by refreshments -- Monday 29 June, 7.30 pm, Turner Sims

Join us for the end of term reports (lots of A*s and hardly any could-try-harders) and news of the season to come. And then join us for light refreshments in the foyer!

St Cross Concert -- thanks!

Thank you to everyone who took part in our sold-out concert at St Cross! It was a really enjoyable event (I've had lots of very positive feedback from singers and audience alike), and all made possible by the generous help of various choir members -- not to mention that of family members and friends, so kindly volunteered!

Ticket sales survey

Around 70% of our audience obtain tickets through choir members. Some of you are very successful at inviting others to our concerts whilst others feel less comfortable doing so. We would like your views! For those of you who are successful, we would love to know how you do it (and please don’t stop!). Sandra Bance and John Newell have put together a survey, and we'd be very grateful if you could spare a few moments to print and complete it. Please return completed surveys at the rehearsal on March 2nd (leave them on the table with the registers). Thanks!

Support our choir! Buy through our webshop!

Here's a great way to get some fantastic online bargains, find cheaper gas and electricity services -- even book a holiday. Remember, anything you buy through our webshop will help towards our fundraising targets.
So why not top up your CD/DVD or book collection or treat your wardrobe to an overhaul -- you can even book your holiday there. Or, if you're making business purchases, take a look at the computer equipment, great value broadband or stationery from Euroffice. There are also plenty of offers on DIY products, electrical and audio goods and lots more from big high street names.
Click on the buy.at icon in the bar on the right to visit the webshop!

Price promise
You pay exactly the same price as on the retailer's main sites, which is often lower than on the high street. The commission earned by the choir comes out of the retailers' profit margin - it is their marketing spend.

Ticket order form (members only)

Members of the SPC and the SU Phil may buy tickets for the unreserved seating and order tickets for reserved seating through Mags at rehearsals. Please help us to reduce the time people spend in the queue -- make sure you have completed the order form and have your payment ready before you reach Mags!
Thanks,
Deborah

Members only (singing members and Friends of the choir) - The Phil Lottery

We recently announced the launch of the Phil Lottery, open to members and Friends (who, under the Constitution, are also members of the choir). Explanatory notes and the ticket form are here. Please hand your form and payment to our Treasurer, Keith Hirst.

Wedding Choir -- December 19 2008, 12 pm

The wedding choir has been booked for a marriage service on December 19 2008 at St Joseph's Church in Bugle Street, Southampton. Please arrive in time for a run-through at 11.30 am. For those who are not familiar with Bugle Street in relation to the rest of Southampton, the main landmarks are the distinctive steeple of St Michael's Church and the Tudor House Museum, both of which are about 100 yards/metres from St Joseph’s Church in Bugle Street.

Rehearsal
There will be a rehearsal at the TSH from 18.45 on Monday December 8 2008, finishing in time to release singers for the main choir rehearsal at 19.30. Music will be distributed at the rehearsal (but see the section on Programme, below).
