Filling seats at our concerts
If you struggle to sell tickets for a concert of classical music, you're certainly not alone. However, here are a few tips garnered from our most successful 'sales-people' that should help to make a difference:
- Tell all your friends and family about our concert (and offer to get the tickets on their behalf).
- Circulate the e-leaflet.
- Make the most of social networking: mention the concert on Facebook or Twitter, and link to the concert webpage.
- Circulate leaflets and posters to groups to which you belong or to work colleagues.
- Deliver leaflets to your neighbours.
- Ask to put posters/leaflets in public places, e.g., libraries, hospitals, hairdressers, etc. (see publicity table for ideas and check distribution list).
- Buy tickets for that special present(!) or even for raffle prizes if you know of a timely fête.
- Invite your concert-going friends back to your place for a drink and some nibbles after the concert, or arrange to meet them for a bite to eat in town.
How to buy tickets
-
Buy directly from the Guildhall Box Office: in person (cash, credit or debit card payments); by ‘phone (tel: 023 8063 2601) or online (booking fees apply).
-
Buy tickets for reserved seating at choir rehearsals through Mags who will do the leg work for you. A completed ticket order form (see form) can speed up the process.
-
Buy tickets for the unreserved stalls directly from Julia or Mags at rehearsal. These tickets can be taken on a ‘sale or return’ basis – all we ask is for a cheque as security to cover the total value of the tickets taken.
